The workshop in Trbovlje led by Mr. Savić gave me a new perspective on the organization of the business model. Although I was familiar with the basic concepts, it is the “canvas” method that offered an approach that differs from conventional visualizations.
I like to attend seminars, meetings, and conferences in the field of organization and management, mainly due to new findings as well as new ideas that arise in seminars and workshops as was the case at this one in Trbovlje. The approach and interpretation were at a high level.
Beginning with the first presentation slides the lecturer seemed to command all the communication strategies and resources, which he interprets. Subsequent “exercises” were conducted in a constructive way. A way that established confidence, motivation, and playfulness, and on the other hand, presented interesting team work and modern ways of organising and managing projects.

Workshop Design your new business models opened a new important aspect for me. Companies need to move away from business strategies/plans/visions/actions (or nothing!), into the reflection of the business model. The model that is presented is about the change of thinking and people working in the design business can quickly adopt it and apply it. Since it is simple, understandable, and made for life it is something new and at the same time normal. At least for most businesses I know.
It is a concept that can make the foundations of each company. It offers tremendous options for change. The model goes from the idea to the adaptation of it. In short, it allows experimentation which is essential in the business environment.
Participation obligatory! Even for those who are just thinking or suspecting that they have a need for self-realization in one of their business sides. So — highly recommended for start-ups, co-working spaces, conceptual initiatives, local communities, and those looking for integration of social needs with an economic unit. The future is in co-working. There were individuals at the workshop with different backgrounds and some of them were not able to get rid of their everyday roles to start creating.

I went to the workshop Business Model Generation without any expectations. The reason was that I was in a couple of workshops before and didn’t get much out of it.
This was the first time I could actually take something from the workshop, some concrete things, and developed it for my business model. I have a comedy club, called “Studio Smijeha” in Zagreb and recently we needed some new ideas of how to proceed because the business went down, and it should, of course, after all, what we did, go up. Therefore, this workshop couldn’t come to me at a more appropriate time than it actually did. At the workshop I got the answers to some key questions, in particular, it has helped me understand the key elements of the business model.
Like most, I too have put too much emphasis on “community management” rather than on the development and expansion of our core business. I found new perspectives for the business and put in my memory some really good impressions and flashes from the lecturer but in particular, I was through the “project-based group work” constantly thinking about how to replace publishing that we were solving, with my own club …
I’ll keep in touch after one year and tell you how did my business model improve the functioning of the club and how did it move our business into positive figures from red gone to heaven :)

What did I like at the business model design workshop in Nest coworking in Berlin, in February 2012? A very structured and mature way to bring the business model canvas didactically over. The design of the presentation.
What could be better? More time to correct issues – a conversation instead of a lecture from the beginning. Especially for the first presentation of the business model canvas, a round of introductions at the beginning, and a feedback session at the end. Facilitated reflection phases after each exercise.

The whole thing seems phenomenal to me because all those models from the thousand and one book from the university study are complicated more than not. With Business Model Canvas you get a very clear and transparent system to extract the essence. The really great thing, I must admit.
Maybe I looked a bit different on the whole story than others in the workshop, I am an economist by education namely. Although we treated many of the things at the faculty and I have met many concepts mentioned in my day-to-day office work, I really enjoyed the business model generation experience.
As I said, the matter is awesome, useful, and usable, and I learned a lot in the workshop in Trbovlje.

The programme of the workshop was very interesting and systematic. The lecturer definitely respected all the rules a person should follow when giving a presentation. I have been to many seminars before but some only seemed like a waste of time. I was pleasantly surprised by Marko Savić in the role as a lecturer. The material was presented in a clear and understandable manner and the connection of different parts of the workshop was done in an appropriate way.
Practical video examples and group work, especially playing the "Build a tower, build a team" exercise, were very interesting. Creation itself on the business model canvas seemed a bit too short with a short time for individual analysis. Here I think the lecturer should take more time to explain where the errors were and in which direction groups should continue. Of course, it is hard to judge whether this concept would be time appropriate due to only one-day duration of the workshop especially because of the large number of participants at the workshop.
It is my pleasure to recommend the workshop and the experience I gained from it because through the creation of new business models we learn how to work in a group and to find new or develop old business ideas.

The lecturer has done his job well and passed the content smoothly, he didn’t spare the participants (although we were all motivated and it seems to me that we all had sovereign opinions and interpretations of generated business models), which is actually the only way that you can leave home with new knowledge and with a brain sore of active thinking.
Kino Šiška proved to be a suitable place for the workshop. I’ll develop my business ideas with the help of Business Model Canvas.

In the autumn of 2013, we conducted a business modeling workshop with Mr. Marko Savić, MA, MBA.
In mid-2013 software Think!EHR Platform was developed to a level that needed a go-to-market strategy. Business modeling seemed to be the answer to the challenge. That's why we invited Marko, one of the leading business modeling professionals in Slovenia, to conduct a two-day business model innovation workshop with us.
There was no hesitation about engaging Marko Savić, however, we did have hesitation about whether business modeling would fit into our culture that lauds technological brilliance over everything else. Nevertheless, we did realize that business modeling is a methodology that we should at least learn about if not directly practice. We were satisfied with the delivery of a two-day business model innovation workshop by Marko Savić. Two things stood out:
one) Marko never faltered when he required at least 15 of the best people of Marand to participate. This requirement was tremendously helpful because it established the top-level importance of the workshop even before the workshops started.
two) Marko’s overall delivery of the workshop was solid but not superior throughout the workshop, however, the ending, his last business model canvas that he created personally in front of the whole group was great.
The target audiences and their roles were the main benefits of the business coaching. We do acknowledge also that bringing together our software and business teams is important, and Marko’s workshop accomplished this.
We recommend Marko as a business model development coach. His understanding of contemporary theory and practice is sound, and his delivery is strong, with a devotion that tops all.

Canvas business model, Business model generation, start-ups… so brenčeče besede. Delavnica 8. decembra mi je bila dopadljiva zaradi celostne ponudbe: sobota, KŠ [Kino Šiška], cel dan treninga za delo s Kanvasom, privlačna cena – in sem šel.
Markov stil predavanja se mi je na začetku zdel nekoliko robat, nepretočen in zaradi svoje ex-katedra stance celo malo »old-skul« (kljub »fajni« preži). Potem pa smo začeli delati v skupinah in Marko se je razživel. Med vrtincem spoznavanja Kanvasa, ustvarjanja novih inačic poslovnega modela, spoznavanjem drugih udeležencev, krasne juhe za kosilo… smo se razšli.
Zame je bistveno, da sem dobil praktične izkušnje, kako uporabljati Kanvas; zadeva zgleda enostavno, pogledaš list online, razumeš koncept, znamo. Pa ni čisto tako lahko, je zahtevno.
Delavnico vsebinsko in Markovo eksekucijo zelo priporočam! Tako menedžerjem, ki imajo možnost uvideti moč kreativnosti za rast, kot kreativcem, ki bodo videli, da vsaka krasna ideja rabi podporen ekosistem ostalih 8 polj Kanvasa, sicer… lahko ostane krasna ideja na papirju.

Ker sem bila ena od nekoliko izkušenejših v času delavnice v Škofji Loki in hkrati popolnoma brez pričakovanj, saj Kanvasa poslovnih modelov sploh nisem poznala, sem vse skupaj sprejela nekoliko bolj odprto. Predavanje se je začelo zelo po »šolsko«. Česar v času dodatnih izobraževanj in po srednji šoli nekako nisem več pričakovala. Tako mi ni bilo povsem jasno, kako se bo celotna zadeva dejansko zapeljala. Ko smo začeli izdelovati sam Kanvas pa se je delavnica razživela. Povsem jasen je bil namen sodelovanja in komunikacije v skupinah. Zelo dobro bi bilo, če bi se ob tem tudi posredovalo ugotovitve skupin – kdo je povzel vloge: vodje, povezovalca, delavca… Zelo všeč mi je bil časovni pritisk, čeprav je bilo videti, da se nekateri niso dobro počutili ob strogem prekinjanju interakcije na sekundo. Mislim, da se na tak način premalo dela, vsaka taka izkušnja pa kasneje ob zaposlitvi pride še kako prav. Morda je bila delavnica prekratka – in bi bilo bolje, če bi prvi del – uvod, skrajšali, da bi ostalo za zaključek nekoliko več časa. S pridobljenim znanjem in izkušnjo sem danes zelo zadovoljna. Še po nekaj dneh pregledovanja sem namreč ugotovila tudi, kje vse bi se lahko popravili. Hvala za prijetno izkušnjo in hkrati tudi budnico.

Ponudil jim je priložnost, da se preizkusijo v različnih vlogah in odgovornostih v poslovnem modeliranju. Tak pristop omogoča predstavitev različnih idejnih prototipov poslovnih modelov. Nenazadnje je bilo načrtovanje časa in upravljanje časa delavnice odlično.

Delavnica je bila dinamična in je vsekakor ponudila veliko zanimivih iztočnic. Izhodišče je bilo oblikovanje poslovnih modelov, vendar tovrstna izkušnja zajema tudi aspekte timskega dela, prilagajanja novim situacijam, hitrega razmišljanja in optimizacije delovanja. Pohvalno je, da je bil poseben poudarek namenjen predstavitvi, angleško Design Thinking procesa, ki ima ključno vlogo pri snovanju novih poslovnih modelov in posledično velik vpliv na dolgoročni razvoj podjetij.

Kot sem že na delavnici svetoval, bi jaz osebno vsekakor pred Kanvasom udeležencem podal še kakšno »pred-zgodbo«, prek katere bi se našli v vrednostni verigi (kot jo definira Skinner – London Business School). To se je pokazalo zelo potrebno, ko smo delali primer izobraževalnega zavoda. Zakaj? Preprosto. Tedaj se je videlo, da imamo tri povsem raznovrstne ponudbe in ne vemo, kam se lahko s katero postavimo. Če bi bila razdelana vrednostna veriga, bi vedeli kam spadamo (se pravi, kar imamo v rokah, da lahko na tem gradimo naš poslovni model). Drugače pa – žal moram dati eno kritiko… Vse skupaj me je spominjalo na osnovnošolsko blok uro, v kateri se vidi, da je učitelj slabo pripravljen. Šlo je za skupinsko delo, kjer bi naj vsaka skupina predstavila to, kar je delala – ostale pa poslušale – nato pa delale naslednji primer. Nikjer ni bilo časa za refleksijo nad povratnimi informacijami, ki jih je katerakoli skupina dobila. Pričakovalo pa se je, da bodo vse skupine tiho poslušale razlago za naslednjo skupino. Se pravi – do pavze, kjer bi končno lahko govorili o kakšnem primeru, bi bilo že toliko informacij, da si jih večina več ne zapomni in refleksija več ni smiselna. Toda, če ne moreš znotraj skupine, s katero si nekaj delal narediti analize tega kar si delal, si nič ne zapomniš in ne moreš svojega znanja (ki ga pridobivaš) ponotranjiti ali resnično usvojiti. To je spominjalo na reševanje matematičnih enačb, kjer vsak pride k tabli in rešuje, brez da bi lahko zares razumel, kaj dela. Seveda pa so bile tudi močne točke izobraževanja, ki pa niso bile najbolj poudarjene: npr. Kanvas je lahko super orodje za »pitching« – se pravi, da je lahko to odlična podlaga za predstavitev zamisli, zlasti ko se zbirajo finančna sredstva za izvedbo poslovnega načrta. Vsekakor pa je bil zelo dobrodošel tudi »manchmellow« test, saj se je izkazalo, da marsikdo preveč razmišlja in premalo oz. prepozno prične konkretizirati svoje zamisli. Upam, da bodo moje povratne informacije pomagale pri bodočih izobraževanjih za bodoče udeležence.

Delavnica »Oblikovanje poslovnih modelov«, katere sem se udeležila v PTP Ljutomer je bila zelo zanimiva. Vsak posameznik je preizkusil sebe, ugotovil na kaj je pozoren in na kaj premalo. Naučila sem se, da za učinkovit poslovni model moramo združiti realna in emocijska pričakovanja. Delo na primerih, ti da realno sliko osebnega pristopa do reševanja in zastavitve pravega poslovnega modela za tvoje podjetje. Najbolj mi je bila všeč, kratka in razumljiva predstavitev Kanvasa oblikovanja poslovnih modelov, delo v skupinah ter na koncu analiza vsake skupine in predelava pravilne končne rešitve. Z delavnico sem dobila potrditev, da je moje zastavljanje in oblikovanje poslovnih modelov dobro. Takih in podobnih delavnic bi se v bodoče z veseljem udeležila, saj ti v kratekem času, dajo ogromno. Najprej splošna ocena delavnice: Zadovoljen! V preteklosti sem že bil sem na eni podobni kratki delavnici. Sam sem tudi že uporabljal Kanvas pri razmisleku o lastnem modelu in Kanvas vnašal tudi v nekaj usposabljanj, ki sem jih izvajal. Od delavnice sem pričakoval, da bom poglobil znanje, in da bom lahko delal na lastnem poslovnem modelu. V oblikovanju lastnega poslovnega modela vidim ključno težavo v razdrobljenosti. Veliko manjših področij, ki jemljejo čas in energijo in komaj sestavijo celoto s finančnega vidika. Imajo pa skupni imenovalec in izziv je, kako preko tega skupnega imenovalca vse to povezati ali pa morda nekatere stvari odrezati. …

Delavnica je bila zame poučno in zanimivo doživetje. Nanjo sem prišla brez izdelanih pričakovanj, na moževo pobudo. On je za delavnico izvedel prek Facebooka. Ker sva oba “free-lancerja” sva vedno vesela kakšne – še posebej seveda brezplačne! – priložnosti za pridobivanje novih znanj. In sva pršla v Maribor. … Všeč mi je bilo zlasti to, da smo v središče postavili kanvas, ki smo ga imeli ves čas pred sabo in ga prek nalog postopno memorirali. Ta pristop se mi je zdel zelo zanimiv in tudi učinkovit, me je pa v začetku kar malo prestrašil – pričakovala sem namreč, da bom imela kot poslušalka dosti bolj pasivno vlogo in kar nekaj časa sem rabila, da sem preklopila in se aktivirala. …
